Scientology Volunteer Ministers of the Church of Scientology Led 40 Public Service Projects Across the Czech Republic in October
Spanning from the capital city to the country’s second-largest city, volunteers convert moral principles and care into real-world community change.
Prague, Czech Republic — October 31st, 2025 — Throughout October, the Volunteer Ministers (VMs) of the Church of Scientology launched efforts across the Czechia to restore parks and streets, assist community organizations, and foster a revitalized public engagement in four key cities — Prague, Brno, Plzeň and Pelhřimov.
In just four weeks, they completed more than forty activities, harnessing countless volunteer hours in eco-friendly and social welfare action based on L. Ron Hubbard’s “The Way to Happiness”, the universal ethical guide written by Hubbard.
Teamwork That Delivers Results
Weekly, 15 to 20 volunteers collaborated in more than ten community activities, dedicating over 100 hours of service — plus another 100 hours for a major cleanup in Brno.
That standalone Brno effort collected 150 bags of litter, converting abandoned grounds into usable public land. In Pilsen, teams tackled an abandoned forest site left in unsanitary conditions after makeshift camps, disposing of dangerous waste with thoughtfulness.
“These are not glamorous tasks,” a team member noted. “But if we don’t take responsibility, who will? Every restoration is about restoring dignity — to our surroundings, our fellow citizens, and our own sense of purpose.”
Unity Across Differences
The month also featured meaningful ecumenical partnership. The team gathered and distributed clothing donations to a Catholic charity, reflecting a commitment to unity that transcends religious affiliation.
Mr. Arjona, the Scientology’s envoy to the European Union, OSCE, Council of Europe and United Nations, emphasized the deeper significance of such volunteerism:
“Helping is a universal language. Be it working alongside a church, a city office, or a person facing hardship, our members embody the conviction that a healthier community starts with individuals who care — those who step forward with purpose.”
A Tradition of Service
Created by L. Ron Hubbard in the 1970s, the VM initiative equips community members with real-world tools to offer help and stability in crisis or everyday challenges. Known globally for disaster relief and social projects, these yellow-shirted volunteers are active today in over 120 countries.
In the Czech Republic, their commitment to local action expands each year, blending effective organization with ethical principles. Their long-standing motto — “There’s always a solution” — inspires community members seeking meaningful opportunities to contribute to civic life.
Living Values Every Day
Numerous Czech volunteers also hand out the “The Way to Happiness” booklet during their activities. Intended as a non-religious ethics manual, it news european parliament presents 21 precepts supporting personal integrity, truthfulness, and environmental responsibility — values mirrored in the volunteers’ weekly initiatives.
These humble but ongoing efforts illustrate how ethical education and community involvement reinforce each other. “With personal accountability, the world improves,” Arjona remarked.

City officials in multiple Czech cities have commended the Volunteer Ministers’ consistent efforts. Their visible, hands-on presence — whether cleaning pathways to maintaining parks — has motivated residents to join or initiate their independent projects.
A volunteer captured the experience simply: “We didn’t wait for someone else to fix it — we just started.”
